Phoenix Road Runners
The Phoenix Road Runners joined the C.H.L. for the 1977/78 season after ventures in the old W.H.L. and W.H.A. Following 2 unsuccessful months on the ice, the local management removed their support for the team, forcing the C.H.L. to suspend the teams operation for the remainder of the season. The Phoenix Road Runners became the first franchise in C.H.L. history to cease operations during the course of the regular season.
