Fort Worth joined the C.H.L. for the 67/68 season after the Memphis franchise relocated to Fort Worth. They were called the Wings until they changed their name for the 74/75 season. Their new name was the Texans. The Texans would play in the league for the next 8 years before leaving. After the 81/82 season, the Texans, the Dallas Black Hawks and Oklahoma City Stars left the league. This spelled certain doom for the C.H.L. in the coming years.
