Gerhard was born into a family of folk artists where techniques and skills are handed down from generation to generation. After receiving a college degree in photography he became interested in folk art paintings on furniture. With assistance of severale fellow artists Gerhard was able to enhance his knowledge of folk art painting.

Decorative painted furniture or murals on the exterior/interior of our homes is a reflection of our personality and lifestyle, it will bring warmth and enjoyment into our life. The use of personal colors, family- or community history, trade and historical events are an important part to create an unique artwork.
