Here's alittle info. on Hinduism.
Hinduism is extreemly different from Christianity and other pagan religions alike. This might be because the triple deity aspect is very strong in Hinduism. Brahma is the initial god- the father of both gods and man. From himself, he created his wife, Sarasvati, as well as Vishnu, the preserver god, and Siva, the destroyer god or the god of destruction. Brahma's wife is not part of the triad ( that can be viewed both mono. and/or poly., ) she remains seperate, perhaps because of other factors we may discuss in future articles.
The three trinity gods - Brahma, Vishnu, and Siva combine in a mental state, as a child is a little of the mother in a literal sense. Each trinity has avatars of themselves, or different forms.
One important tale in Hinduism is that Brahma was in the beginning like a force that was one with all literally... it was all, and his force created it's own personality seed-and from there Brahma was created. There is also a female positive force. Tantra-Krishnas ( also called Tantra-Hindus, ) believe that Brahma must impregnate the force with his seed to make creation occur. This goes back to the very ancient Hindu beliefs. This, " seed, " is his mind energy.
The Hindu gods can be compared to the Greek gods in their ability to love, even in a , " human-like, " way. Lakshmi/Sri, the goddess of fortune and prosperity was the wife of Vishnu. Siva, who is viewed as half female in one of the god's avatars but is really male oriented, took Parvati as his wife. Parvati was the daughter of the Himalayas who sometimes batteled Hindu demons! Siva and Parvati bore Kartkikeya together, who is the Hindu god of war.
The Hindu gods created, loved and destroyed. God created man in the image of himself. Vishnu is a solar god in all 3 plains of existence in Hinduism- which is heaven, air and earth. Let's keep in mind that Siva also bore the title of the Prince of Demons, Bhudapati. Siva was the god of pestilence and death. Siva's wife herself, is a triple trinity!
Brahma took a wife, Sarasvati, the goddess of music, wisdom, and knowledge. It is told that she is a direct creation of his substance; he fell in love with her the moment he saw her spring from his own self, and beckoned her. He said, " Let us beget all kinds of living things- men, Suras, Asuras. " She married him and they stowed away in a secret place for one hundred years together. Suras are the divine and Asuras became the type of entities much like demons.
Of course, I will have to add that there are many Hindu sects, thus all Hindu's do not believe in the mythological belief above. Infact, one Hindu online told me he did not believe in life after death! He believed his energy will go back to the source/Brahma upon death.
Additionally, a Krishna in San Diego told me that all Hindu's - including Krishnas - believe that whatever they believe will happen to them after death ... WILL. Talk about free will ... that's gotta be the *supreme* free will.
