Fine dining at my house begins here in the kitchen. This is where my wife reigns supreme, condescending to permit me access on rare occasions. Day after day, she prepares a varied menu of good, wholesome food, deliciously prepared, and nicely served. And to think, she couldn't cook at all when we were married. Now she has Blue Ribbons to show for her culinary accomplishments!

This Italian loaf is to illustrate how simple fine dining can be. Made easily with just flour, yeast, salt, water, and honey, and taking but a few minutes effort (lus 2 hours of rising and baking time), it adds that authentic touch to an Italian style dinner - or makes a delicious "bruschetta" for lunch - just add olive oil, fresh tomato, basil leaves, and freshly grated parmesan cheese..mmmmmmmmmm!

Full enjoyment of well prepared and served cuisine can only be attained in an appropriate setting. For me, a formal dining room is essential, as is fine china, crystal, and silver, on a tastefully set and decorated table.

Our home is small and modest, but the dining room furnishings were chosen to enrich the dining experience - not just for guests or special occasions, but every day. Soft music, the aroma of freshly cut flowers, good company and converstaion, and our pup, Lady, lying quietly nearby. Can't be beat!

Here's the Worlds Greatest Cook (in my opinion!), twenty five years ago. She took all the marbles then: imagine how good her cooking is now!

Scallops & succotash, green salad with lemon vinaigrette dressing, a generous slice of that italian loaf, a crystal goblet of Chardonnay, coffee & Amaretto, with Tchaikovsky playing softly in the background ...... it simply doesn't get any better than that!
