Misspelled Signs - Page 2

Star Toyota, 205-11 Northern Boulevard, Bayside, NY

I love the giant inflatable rat by the picket line at this car dealership. It's become something of a fixture at the place. Note that the strikers are protesting a "LAW BREKER." Is that someone who breks a law? And right below that in much smaller print it reads "SATR TOYOTA." Maybe these strikers should be picketing at that other business. (Are we to assume that the rat wrote the sign? If so, then kudos to a pretty smart rodent.)

Former location of Melrose Credit Union, 58-25 Queens Boulevard, Woodside, NY

Don't go looking for Melrose Credit Union in Briarwood, because they've moved to a new neighborhood of their own creation, Brairwood.

Modern Furniture, 89-18 Queens Boulevard, Elmhurst, NY

Better hurry to this place, because they're having a "CLEARENCE SALF." On second thought there's no rush, since this sign has been displayed for several months. I guess that they couldn't call it a sale because they used their last E in "CLEARENCE" when it should have been an A. Fortunately there were enough Fs left for "OFF." I wonder if this rampant misspelling is some sneaky way of getting around the law that says you can't have a going-out-of-business sale that never ends.

Key Food, 224 McGuinness Boulevard, Brooklyn, NY

It's a good thing that their clementines are imorted. Imported ones are notoriously very pricey. But seriously, it looks as if they couldn't have squeezed in the missing P without reducing the size of the typeface or moving "SWEET" to another line.

Luna's Party Goods & Bridal Supplies, 1067 Flushing Avenue, Brooklyn, NY

Ballons - they're just like balloons, only they're not looney.

Tony's Hardware, 998/1000 Flushing Avenue, Brooklyn, NY

For those of you who aren't mechanically oriented, an altenator is the part of an automobile which altenates. Duh!

Very Tact Int'nl Corp., 267 Vandervoort Avenue, Brooklyn, NY

I wonder if they fabicate altenators.

Graham Avenue Meats & Deli, 445 Graham Avenue, Brooklyn, NY

It's "prosciutto," not "proscuitto." Remember: It's u before i except after c.

Grand Autocare Corp., 59-01 Grand Avenue, Maspeth, NY

I'm pretty sure that the word is "maintainaince," but I could be wrong.

One Stop Multiservice Inc., 54-08 Flushing Avenue, Maspeth, NY

I went inside and asked the guy what he does, and he replied, "None of your buisness!"
