Misspelled Signs - Page 3

A & L Cabinet & Furniture Showroom, 1146 Myrtle Avenue, Brooklyn, NY

Maybe they make cabin nets. I dunno.

Manna's Restaurant, 829 Broadway, Brooklyn, NY

The last time I checked, the word was spelled "macaroni," with just one c. And I see that it's just maccaroni cheese, mind you - not maccaroni and cheese. Pass the ox tail and be done with it.

Hernandez Grocery, 818 Flushing Avenue, Brooklyn, NY

This time "cigarettes" again has an extra r but they dropped a t.

Luis Grocery, 995 Flushing Avenue, Brooklyn, NY

Yet another variation: Just missing an e.

Near the former location of Butcher Block, Queens Boulevard, Sunnyside, NY

1: "Coming" is misspelled. 2: What's with the comma in the address? 3: "ST" is penned in between "41" and "STREET." (You have to look very closely to see it.)

Oh, comme on already!

A & B Garden Center & Florist, 162-24 Northern Boulevard, Flushing, NY

The word "wreathe" is a word, but it's a verb; what I assume was intended was "wreath," a noun. It should be "cemetery" - with three es and no as - not "cemetary." But they get points for spelling "poinsettia" correctly.

Graziano's Ravioli, 154-16 Northern Boulevard, Flushing, NY

Sign #1:
  • Specialities 7 ("Speciality" is a word, according to the Merriam-Webster online dictionary. However, in this context it should have been "Specialties.")
  • Manicotti 3
  • Cavatelli 3
  • Lasagna 3 (Also: Lasagne)
  • Cannaloni 7(s/b Cannelloni)
  • Tortellini 3
  • Gnocchi 3
  • Fettucini 37(A variant of Fettuccine)
Sign #2:
  • According to the Merriam-Webster online dictionary, the plural of "hero" - as in a sandwich - is usually "heros," not "heroes."
  • "Cuttlet" s/b "Cutlet"

All-in-all a pretty good job of spelling. (However, I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the redundant "tuna fish.")

Art & Design Marble Inc., 67-02 Queens Boulevard, Woodside, NY

Note that one of the many things this outfit specializes in is "FIRE PLAE."

McGuinness Truck & Auto Parts, 201 McGuinness Boulevard, Brooklyn, NY

Of all the ways to misspell the word "cylinder" - I assume that's what they were trying to spell - I never would have guessed this one.

Dutch Dairy, 762 Manhattan Avenue, Brooklyn, NY

I wonder if they could make me a sandwich with bolonga and proscuitto? (BTW: I presume that "B.H." stands for "Boar's Head," a brand of deli products which I'm not sure is nationwide.)
