Misspelled Signs - Page 18

Leonardo's Detailing, 474 Leonard Street, Brooklyn, NY

Just because your place is called Leonardo's doesn't give you the right to rename the street on which it lies, no matter how subtle that change is - in this case from Leonard Street to Leonardo Street.

47-02 47th Avenue, Sunnyside, NY

One more example of "coffe" instead of "coffee." I couldn't resist.

418 East 14th Street, Manhattan, NY

We've seen something similar to this before. In this case, however, it's not "MEN-WOMEN" but "MAN&WOMEN." I wonder who the one lucky man is.

Fashions Forever, 422 East 14th Street, Manhattan, NY

They got it right ("jewelry") on the front of this awning, but wrong ("jewery") on its side.

i Salon, 150 East 14th Street, Manhattan, NY

Another awning with a spelling inconsistency - "haircutting" on the front, and "haircuttin" on the side. But I don't really care. While their "cuttin" my hair I'll be enjoying a nail waxing. Sweet!

City Gourmet, 123 Third Avenue, Manhattan, NY

I'd like my jumbo croissant with "milted" Munster cheese. Well, at least it's not Muanster cheese. Milted: Is that a combination of melted and wilted?

99¢ Plus Store, 212 East 14th Street, Manhattan, NY

Are housewears items that you wear around the house?

Superior Market, 40-?? Queens Boulevard, Sunnyside, NY

Although the wording on the pictured cereal box indicates "Cinnamon Toast Crunch," the sign reads "Cinnamon Toast Cruch."

Autoline Motors, Inc., 73-01 51st Avenue, Queens, NY

We've seen "mufflers" spelled "muffers" (missing the l), and we've seen it spelled "muffles" (missing the r). This time we have it spelled "muflers" - lacking one f. I can't imagine any other variation, but I'm hoping to be pleasantly surprised somewhere down the line.

Complete Auto Care Center, 78-10 51st Avenue, Queens, NY

Well, they got "mufflers" right, I'm happy to report. But I wouldn't call the signmaker a specialist when it comes to spelling - "suspension" in this case, which came out as "supension." One more thing, of a non-spelling nature: What's with that oversized comma?
