Misspelled Signs - Page 27

The Men's Wearhouse this ain't - or wasn't - if that's what the misspelling was meant to convey. This place went out of business in the spring of 2004.

This is the second time with "foreing" instead of "foreign." See this one. Interestingly, if you look at the picture closely it appears that it used to read "J & N Auto Repair Corp." I suspect that the "Ask for Jorge" was squeezed in at the bottom of the sign when "J & N" was changed to "Jorge." I wonder what ever happened to "N."

I don't get it - a drop of service? Is that like a spot of tea? Oh, well. At least it's not a doop off service.

It should be "camera," not "camara." And "camcordes" should be "camcorders." Camcor-duhs!

Admittedly, it's a difficult one. It should read "daiquiri," not "daquiri." (At least the signmaker was consistent, making the same mistake in both places.) And it's "cannoli," instead of "canoli." Everything else checks out O.K.

Recalling my college organic chemistry, it's methyl, ethyl, propyl. (The corresponding nomenclature root depends upon the length of the molecule's carbon chain. For more information on this topic see Organic Nomenclature Rules and Nomenclature.) Anyway, it's not supposed to be "polyethelene," but "polyethylene." Interestingly, just around the corner from this sign is one on which it and "polypropylene" are spelled correctly.

I really like this one - "weeel" instead of "wheel." Wheeeee!

Miscellaneus - it sounds like some kind of Greek god. (The correct spelling is "miscellaneous.")

• Top left: The second e was omitted from "concrete." And what's "fotting?" Is it supposed to be "footing" or "fitting?"
• Bottom left: "Masonary" should be "masonry."
• Bottom right: "Railing" is missing its first i.

Very minor: It should be "spaghetti" - two ts - not "spagheti."
