Seeing Double

In the spirit of the "Separated At Birth" feature of the late Spy Magazine, I present my interpretation of pairs (and even trios) which to me bear a more than passing resemblance to each other.

Tell me that these mug shots aren't eerily similar. On the left is Robert Durst, who, among other offenses, is suspected of killing his wife about 20 years ago. On the right is perennially in-trouble actor Robert Downey, Jr. Could the left image be Downey in another twenty years? Spooky!

On the left is former AOL Time-Warner CEO Gerald Levin and on the right is "Cheers" actor John Ratzenberger. With a lot more free time, might Levin head up to Boston and plant himself down on a barstool at the Bull and Finch Pub and blather on endlessly about useless trivia?

This pair of pictures seems to indicate that Harry Potter - or at least his film portrayal - is the offspring of none other than "Weakest Link" hostess Anne Robinson. Well, they are both British, and they each seem to be wearing a smug expression as they peer over or through their respective glasses. (Hers is more of a scowl, whereas his is the slightest of cocky grins.)

Those of you who aren't from the New Jersey area (I live in NYC. Close enough.) might not recognize former New Jersey governor Jim Florio, a real "Joker." He's the one in the picture on the left. Or maybe it's the one on the right. I leave it to you to decide.

It struck me - and I don't expect it to strike many (if any) others - that ABC News consultant and military expert Anthony Cordesman bears a more-than-slight resemblance to '80s cult character Max Headroom.

O.K. I admit it's a bit of a stretch, but I believe that New York governor and U.S. Presidential candidate Thomas Dewey looks similar to innovative comic and TV pioneer Ernie Kovacs.

I'll bet that you can't truthfully tell me that you don't see the resemblance between these two Dans - Rather and Hedaya.

You might not agree with me, but I see some similarity between Tiger Woods and the mascot of the Cleveland Indians - Does it have a name? - primarily in their toothy grins.

Steven Wright and Robby Krieger of the Doors: Yes? No? Maybe?

Is it just me, but in the comic strip "Blondie" does Dagwood's neighbor Herb Woodley bear an uncanny resemblance to his mailman Mr. Beasley? You'd think that by using some artistic license the original cartoonist would have made them look a little less similar than they do. Those who took the strip over are now stuck with these two look-alikes.
