The Plantsman is pleased to offer our new service of providing quality scans of your photographs on our brand new digital scanner. We specialize in scans for website or business/personal use. Many people are using this type service to post pictures of items to internet auctions such as eBay™. Other people use this to be able to send photos via email for friends and family. Some are using this to provide a backup of personal photo albums that can be put in their bank safety deposit box in case of fire or theft. Whatever your need for scans is, we can supply them.
We individually adjust the color, contrast, focus and many other parameters to give you a quality image. We can also custom optimize the photo's size and pixel count to reduce file size for quick loading for internet viewing. We also offer other custom services such as red eye removal, cropping and custom resizing. Photo scans can be saved to many different image file types.
We can scan up to 8.5" X 11.5" color photos, fine line text or black and white photos. We offer resolution from 300 X 600 dpi up to 4800 X 4800 interpolated in 24 bit color (16.7 million colors). For internet use, we recommend our 100 dpi scans. This will keep the photo close to the size of the original. Higher resolutions will give much larger images for detail but at the expense of very large file sizes. Many photos at higher resolutions will require one 3.5" floppy disk each if they're not heavily compressed.
We normally supply photo scans on new 3.5" high density IBM formatted floppy disks at very reasonable prices.

TERMS Fees for services are payable via check or money order enclosed with photos to be scanned (allow two weeks for checks to clear). We will soon be able to accept credit cards online. We will scan all photos with the exception of certain types of "adult" or other illegal photos. If you would like to have these type photos scanned, please contact us with subject details first. Our service is confidential.
All photograph scan orders submitted should enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope for the return of your prints and floppy disks. Scans can be emailed, posted to our internet pickup page for downloading (private, we'll supply you with the URL), or mailed 3.5" floppy disks. Turnaround time is typically one to two days. Batches for scanning should not exceed 10 photos per batch. Our services are only available for the USA. We promise to provide you with photo scans of the highest quality.
