Anime, Manga, and Video Game Characters

Here's where you'll find some of my anime, manga, and video game-based fanart, some going back to 1996.  It's not particularly good, especially the earlier works, but it's now out there for the world to see.

Back in fall of 2000, Pearson Mui asked me how I'd imagine Kisaragi Mio of Tokimeki Memorial would look a few years after high school.  He was working on a short fic and wanted some ideas on how she might appear while in college.  Thus, this illo. 111K
I actually like how this illo of Fujisaki Shiori from Tokimeki Memoria came out.  It capture's the charm and gentleness of the game's heroine quite well. 173K
Of all the Tokimeki Memorial 1 & 2 characters, Katagiri Ayako from the first game is my most favorite of the girls.  She has a cool, outgoing personality, is into the arts, and is also into languages being bilingual (Japanese and English).  Too bad she's afraid of the water... 58K
Here's another illo I did of Ayako-chan.  It's hard to pick which of the two illos I like better, so I won't make the choice. 69K
Another of my favorite characters is Kagami Mira, again from the first game.  While she may act like a stuck-up bitch, she has a reason for acting that way.  I won't spoil things by telling why, though.  She's also loyal to her family and does have a sense of responsibility. 91K
From Tokimeki Memorial 2 is Minazuki Kotoko.  She's not one of my favorite characters, being on the xenophobic side and all, but this sketch I did of her turned out surprisingly well, so I put it up. 59K
Here's an illo I did of Kasumi from the Dead or Alive series of fighting games.  This was done back in 1998, when the first game was released on the PSX. 53K
Another Dead or Alive character, Lei-Fang is shown here involved in her favorite hobby...besides beating up on the usual riff-raff, that is.  Again, this one was done in 1998. 103K
Here's Lei-Fang again, in one of her main outfits from the game. 62K
When Ayane was introduced as a hidden character in the PSX version of Dead or Alive, there was very little known about her (other than the fact that she was cute, wicked-fast, and had nasty moves).  When DoA2 came out for the Dreamcast (and eventually the PS2), we finally found out that she was the half-sister of Kasumi, and an evil one at that.  Who could've guessed that someone so cute would be so evil?  Like the Kasumi and Lei-Fang illos, this one was done in 1998. 50K
Here are some rough sketches I did of Aa! Megami-sama's Peorth based on the manga back in 1996, soon after she was introduced in the Japanese tankubons. 71K
I did this whimsical sketch of Skuld from Aa! Megami-sama a few years back.  While it's on the rough side, I liked how cute it was and kept it around. 75K
Here's a sketch I did of Sayoko from one of the Aa! Megami-sama manga stories, again in 1996.  It's not a good sketch, I'll admit, but it was a rare expression on Sayoko's face and I wanted to capture it, so to speak. 90K
Here's a couple of sketches I did of the earlier manga artwork of Sayoko, again from 1996 or somewhere thereabouts. 135K
Ah, yes...those wonderful, mindf***ed kids from Evangelion.  Not much to show here, but not too bad for rough sketches back in 1996. 62K
