Pastor M.E. Francis, Sr. is first and foremost a gospel preacher who explains the Word of God in relevant ways to bring forth a communion between his listeners and God. He believes in the absolute power of God to change lives, life situations, ministries and even churches that have lost focus on the work of the kingdom. Pastor Francis is an evangelist and is always seeking the salvation of some lost soul. His dynamic preaching and his illustrative provocative teaching ministry is loaded with clear and strong emphasis on evangelism, discipleship and God’s power to bring forth change. A slow; yet convincing spiritual growth is ever so real to those who follow his vision, passion and program. His constant personal growth is ever bringing him and his congregation to an era when "the ministry of the local church in a small town setting" will be a lasting phenomenon to behold. Pastor Francis is leading a traditional church that was established in the late 1800's to embrace ministries relevant to a new millennium. This is a pastor who realizes that the task of revitalizing a church of this background is greater than the task of founding a new church. However, he has an overwhelming commitment to God to follow the vision, depend on biblical principles and promises and the power of God to transform its' ministry. Francis believes that God desires the transformation of people, their situations and even churches for a lasting testimony unto himself. Pastor Francis says, "While establishing the new is noble, there is the need and the challenge to restore many churches who through the years have become insensitive and negligent to real ministry. To Francis, convention work, auxiliary work and dynamic music ministries, although needed and have place in the local church, major on the minor things of the kingdom's agenda."
The vision is coming to fruition. The birth and growth of new ministries are clear evidence that there is a shift of emphasis form auxiliary work to a strong emphasis on special ministries. The Lord continues to create a passion for the lost and for the socially disenfranchised brothers and sisters that the enemy holds captive by the ills of such a perverted society. The Pleasant Olive Baptist Church is destine to become a house of restoration, deliverance and healing as Pastor Francis continues to lead his church to partner with God through winning, working and willing ministries.
