A.S. Leeper's Dream Journal

The elephants were walking on the bottom of the lake: they carried warriors on their backs. Gees, how do they walk under water, and how the hell do those guys on their backs breathe ?
What's even more amazing to me is that I'm under water too, watching this slow motion battle take place. I seem to be able to breathe just fine. The elephants glide along the lake bottom as the warriors on their backs perform a kind of battle ballet.

Now, through some miracle or other, me and Rexina are sitting on the back of an elephant as it cruises through the jungle. Sitting in front of us is a Cambodian warrior; a fierce, muscular, small man who doesn't seem likely to smile anytime soon.
I'm telling Rexina that I think we're captives, and in deep, deep shit, although how we ended up in this fix is beyond both of us; way beyond.
Suddenly, the elephant lumbers into a clearing, then thru a hole in the jungle wall ahead, and we emerge into a city where everyone is cheering our arrival. It appears that this warrior and elephant have rescued us from some fate we can not imagine.
With much relief we smile for the first time in this dream.
