HOWLING IN THE NINETIES- Thomas Avery

* * * * * *

A cellular phone- camping in the sparse woods- homeless with social benefits cut-
a razor's edge sharp to the skin- a needle full of junk- a young boy turned twenty one
angry and mean towards the world out to get revenge- reinforcements of vandals
in the night- not a sound heard; there are so many false alarms.

Accumulation of useless information on the internet yet we haven't found a solution
to the present global crises- cyber- graphic teletech communities forming across the world-
correctional facilities overcrowded- prisons becoming a growing industry.
- more conflict on the rise- interplanetary communications exchanging information-
independent businesses selling out to billion dollar corporations- mudslides on
the clear-cut slopes- land eroding away- all things are impermanent..

Freak storms of icefloods in the midwest- lovers meeting ON LINE for cyber sex-
cyclones in the north- political scandals increasing- corporate payoffs to abolish the unions-
millions of dollars handed over to the Chinese to take control- billions handed back
investing in AMERICA.

Dali Lama ousted out of Tibet- bureaucrats calling the shots deciding who should lose
their land and who should go hungry. Education becoming a private commodity-warlords
playing their hands for the rich- endangered species becoming extinct- sacred grounds
buried with toxic waste-LISTEN AMERICA, YOU ARE NOW ENTERING THE DEAD ZONE!

Bighorn sheep infected with virus- cattle reign on the once open range tramping down
fragile vegetation-last stands of wilderness at the mercy of madmen in congress-open spaces
becoming closed spaces-THERE IS ONLY THE SPACE IN THE MIND TO PERCEIVE
A SMALL AMOUNT OF CLARITY BEFORE DEATH.

In the NINETIES is there anything left to give us hope- TO SAY SOMETHING POSITIVE-TO CARRY ON
AND SOMEHOW SLOWLY LEARN FROM OUR MISTAKES-OUR SOULS CONNECTING
IN THE HUMAN REALM HERE ON EARTH-GOING DOWN DEEPER INTO THE DARKNESS
UNTIL WE SEE THE LIGHT?
