Join us for an evening of rhythmic play and drumming. Includes a review of hand drumming basics, rhythm games and drum circle grooves. Focus will vary from session to session.

JUST DJEMBES! with Giselle Felicia Vivian, BM CHT
During these 2-hour workshops for adults, participants will continue to develop their basic hand drumming skills as applied to the djembe. There will be a review of playing posture/technique, the different tonal strokes, and an emphasis on primary rhythms to be practiced by individuals. Participants will learn more about ensemble rhythms vs. the community drum circle format. No previous experience required. Bring your own djembe, ashiko, or conga. Limited drums available by reservation in advance. Recommended Text: Bill Matthews: The New Conga Joy for Djembes, Congas, and Ashikos. Available at Apple Mountain Music after the class.
