Paul Freiherr Waldbott von Bassenheim died on 20 February.

 

[He was born on 9 February 1924, son of Friedrich Freiherr Waldbott von Bassenheim and of his wife, née Archduchess Maria Alice of Austria. Since 1958 he had been married to Marie Therese Gräfin von Wikkenburg-Capellini.] (added 23 Feb 2008)

Archduke Martin of Austria (son of Archduke Robert of Austria-Este and of his wife, Princess Margherita of Savoy) and his wife, née Princess Katharina zu Isenburg  (daughter of Franz Alexander Fürst zu Isenburg and of his wife, née Christine Gräfin von Saurma, Freiin von und zu der Jeltsch) had their second child, Emmanuel Achatius Franz Alexander, at Pavia on 15 February. Archduke Raimund (Ramón) of Austria died on 24 April.

BELGIUM

Crown Prince Philippe of Belgium (elder son of King Albert of the Belgians and of Queen Paola) and his wife, née Mathilde d'Udekem d'Acoz, had their fourth, Eléonore Fabiola Victoria Anna Marie, at Anderlecht on 16 April. (updated 17 Apr 2008)

 

Paul Druker (first husband of Princess Marie-Christine of Belgium [daughter of King Léopold III of the Belgians and of his second wife, née Mary Lilian Baels, later Princess de Rethy]) died on 1 April. (added 9 Apr 2008)

 

 

BRAZIL

Dom Eudes de Orléans e Bragança Filho (son of Dom Edues de Orléans e Bragança (b.1939) and of his second wife, née Mercedes Neves da Rocha) married Patrícia Annechino Landau at Rio de Janeiro on 15 March. (added 14 Mar 2008)

 

DENMARK

 

The engagement was announced between Prince Joachim of Denmark (son of Queen Margrethe II of Denmark and of her husband, Prince Henrik [born Henri de Laborde de Monpezat]) and Marie Cavallier. The wedding is to take place at Møgeltønder church on 24 May 2008. (updated 23 Nov 2007)

FRANCE (ORLÉANS)

The engagement was announced between Prince Charles Philippe d’Orléans (son of Prince Michel d’Orléans, Comte d’Evreux, and of his wife, née Béatrice de Pasquier de Franclieu) and Diana Alvares Pereira de Melo, Duquesa de Cadaval (daughter of Jaime Alvares Pereira de Melo, Duque de Cadaval, and of his second wife, née Claudine Tritz). GREAT BRITAIN and NORTHERN IRELAND

 

The engagement was announced between Peter Phillips (son of Mark Phillips and of his former wife, Anne, Princess Royal of Great Britain and Northern Ireland) and Autumn Kelly (daughter of Brian Kelly and of Mrs Kitty Kelly). Crown Prince Pavlos of Greece (eldest son of King Constantine II of the Hellenes and of his wife, née Princess Anne-Marie of Denmark) and his wife, née Marie-Chantal Miller, are expecting their fifth child in July. (added 15 Jan 2008)

 

 

LIECHTENSTEIN

 

Prince Vincenz von und zu Liechtenstein died on 13 January.

 

[He was born at Graz on 30 July 1950, son of Prince Heinrich von und zu Liechtenstein and of his wife, née Archduchess Elisabeth of Austria. From 1981 to 1991 he was married to Hélène de Cossé-Brissac. Since 1999 he had been married to Roberta Valeri Manera. He is survived by her and by two daughters.] (added 15 Jan 2008)

 

 

MONTENEGRO

 

Prince Boris of Montenegro (son of Prince Nikola of Montenegro) and his wife, née Véronique Canas da Silva had a daughter, Milena, born at Les Lilas on 11 February. (added 13 Feb 2008)

 

NETHERLANDS

Prince Bernhard van Oranje-Nassau, van Vollenhoven (second son of Pieter van Vollenhoven and of his wife, Princess Margriet of the Netherlands) and his wife, née Annette Sekrève, had their third child, Benjamin Pieter Floris, at Amsterdam on 12 March. (updated 13 Mar 2008)

 

 

NORWAY

Ari Behn and his wife, Princess Märtha Louise of Norway (daughter of King Harald and Queen Sonia) are expecting their third child in October. (added 14 Mar 2008)

 

 

PARMA

 

Princess Margarita of Bourbon-Parma, Contessa di Colorno (daughter of Prince Carlos Hugo of Bourbon-Parma and of his former wife, Princess Irene of the Netherlands), married Tjalling ten Cate at Maarsbergen on 3 May. Alexander James Amherst Burnett of Leys (b.1973, elder son of James Comyn Amherst Burnett of Leys and of his wife, née Fiona Mercedes Phillips [herself the daughter of Harold Phillips and of his wife, née Georgina Wernher (herself the daughter of Sir Harold Wernher, Bt., and of his wife, Countess Anastasia de Torby [herself the daughter of Grand Duke Michael Mikhailovich of Russia and of his wife, Sophia Gräfin von Merenberg, Countess de Torby])]) and his wife, née Lavinia Margaret Cox, had their second child, Thomas Henry Amherst, on 11 February. Prince Konstantin zu Schaumburg-Lippe died on16 April.

 

He was born at Hagenburg on 22 December 1930, son of Wolrad Fürst zu Schaumburg-Lippe and of his wife, née Princess Bathildis su Schaumburg-Lippe. In 1956 he married Sigrid Knape (1929-1997). TWO SICILIES

 

Prince Ferdinando of Bourbon-Two Sicilies, Duca di Castro, died in France on 20 March.

 

[He was born at Podzamcze on 28 May 1926, son of Prince Ranieri of Bourbon-Two Sicilies and of his wife, née Countess Karoline Zamoyska. In 1949 he married Chantal de Chevron-Villette (1925-2005). He is survived by their three children. He was one of the two rival claimants to be head of the royal house of the Two Sicilies. His claimis inherited by his son, Charles.] (added 22 Mar 2008)
