AUERSPERG

Prince Franz Karl von Auersperg (b.1935, son of Prince Eduard von Auersperg and of his wife, née Sophie Gräfin von Clam und Gallas) died on 26 January. (added 10 Feb 2008)

CASTELL-CASTELL

Maximilian Ludwig Gustav Gert Hugo Kurt Dietz Eberhard Freiherr von Lerchenfeld died on 8 January.

[He was born at Bamberg on 17 January 1926, son of Rudolf Wilhelm Maria Karl August Herbert Ludwig Freiherr von Lerchenfeld and of his wife, née Hertha-Marie v.Pappus u.Trazberg, Freiin zu Leubenberg u.Rauhenzell. Since 1954 he hd been married to Christiana Gráfin zu Castell-Castell (daughter of Carl Fürst zu Castell-Castell and of his wife, née Princess Anna-Agnes zu Solms-Hohensolms-Lich). CROY

Prince Carl-Alfred von Croy died on 15 January.

[He was born at Marienloh on 4 March 1924, son of Prince Anton Prosper Clemens von Croy and of his first wife, née Rosalie von Heyden-Linden. Since 1952 he had been married to Huberta Freiin von Wolff Metternich. They had no children, but he had adopted his nephew, Nikolaus Engelbert Albert Johannes Graf von Schmettau, who has taken the name “Prinz von Croy”.] (added 20 Jan 2008)

Olivier de Duve and his wife, née Countess Isabelle d'Yve de Bavay (daughter of Comte Féliz d'Yve de Bavay [himself the son of Charles Marquis d'Yve de Bavay and of his wife, Princess Mathilde von Croy] and of his wife, Diane Gräfin v.Marchant u.Ansembourg) had their third child, Charlotte, on 23 January. The wedding of baron Thomas de Mevius (son of the late baron Eric de Mevius and of his second wife née comtesse Marguerite de Limburg Stirum [herself the daughter of count Thierry de Limburg Stirum and of his wife née princess Marie-Immaculée de Croÿ]) with Valentine de le Court (daughter of Patrick de le Court and of his wife née Isabelle de Codt [herself the daughter of chevalier Henri de Codt and of his wife née Thérèse (of the barons) de Pierpont Surmont de Volsberghe]) will take place at Rhisnes on 28 June 2008. FÜRSTENBERG

Prince Georg zu Fürstenberg died on 7 January.

[He was born at Strobl on 3 August 1923, son of Prince Karl zu Fürstenberg and of his wife, née Maria Gräfin Festetics von Tolna. From 1960 to 1965 he had been married to Christina Gráfin von Colloredo-Mannsfeld; from 1978 to 1997 he had been married to Victoria Taves Pullen. He had a daughter from the first marriage, who predeceased him.] (added 20 Jan 2008)

HOHENLOHE-JAGSTBERG

Peter Freiherr von Kap-herr (b.Gleiwitz on 22 August 1934) died on 11 February. Since 1970 he had been married to Princess Eleonore zu Hohenlohe-Jagstberg (daughter of Albrecht Fürst zu Hohenlohe-Jagstberg and of his wife, née Therese Gräfin von Geldern-Egmont). He is survived by her and by their two sons. (added 18 Feb 2008)

HOHENLOHE-LANGENBURG

Max Soltmann and his wife, née Princess Xenia zu Hohenlohe-Langenburg (daughter of Kraft Fürst zu Hohenlohe-Langenburg and of first his wife, née Princess Charlotte von Croy) had their second child, a daughter, on 6 April.. (added 12 Apr 2008)

OETTINGEN-WALLERSTEIN

Rose-Marie Gräfin von Strassoldo, née Princess zu Oettingen-Oettingen und Oettingen-Wallerstein, died on 21 January.

[She was born at Munich on 12 March 1923, daughter of Eugen Fürst zu Oettingen-Oettingen und Oettingen-Wallerstein and of his wife, née Princess Maria Anna zu Hohenlohe-Schillingsfürst, von Ratibor und Corvey. In 1949 she married Franz Graf von Strassoldo (1917-1994). She is survived by four of their children and numerous grandchildren.] (added 26 Jan 2008)

PLATEN HALLERMUND

Alice Baronin Ricciardi, née Gräfin von Platen Hallermund, died at Cortona on 23 February.

[She was born at Weißenhaus on 28 April 1910, daughter of Karl Graf und Edler Herr von Platen Hallermund and of his wife, née Elisabeth von Alten. In 1956 she married Augusto Barone Ricciardi (1915-1982).] (added 1 Mar 2008)

RECHTEREN-LIMPURG

Count Christiaan Adolph van Rechteren-Limpurg (second son of Count Adolph van Rechteren-Limpurg and of his wife, née Elisabeth Catherine Buis) and his wife, née Willemijn de Muinck Keizer, had their third child, Samuel Max Felix, at Amsterdam on 26 March. (added 2 Apr 2008)

SAYN-WITTGENSTEIN-HOHENSTEIN

Prince Botho zu Sayn-Wittgenstein-Hohenstein died on 27 January.

[He was born at Eisenach on 16 February 1927, son of Prince Georg zu Sayn-Wittgenstein-Hohenstein and of his wife, née Marie Rühm, who was created Freifrau von Freusburg. He was born Freiherr von Freusburg, but since 1946/7 was accorded the title of Prince. Since 1957 he had been married to Elisabeth Freiin von Zedlitz une Leipe.
