Diana, Viscountess Hood, née Lyttelton, died on 15 March.

Mary Susan Caroline Cavendish [herself the daughter of William George Cavendish, 2^nd Lord Chesham (of the Dukes of Devonshire)]) and of his wife, née Pamela Marie Adeane. John Percy Douglas-Hamilton died at Cape Province, South Africa, on 23 February.

[He was born at Wynberg on 14 February 1930, son of Percy Seymour Douglas-Hamilton (of the Dukes of Hamilton and Brandon) and of his second wife, née Barbara Margherita Chiappini. Jacques-Emmanuel Charles Marie de Bryas-Desmier d'Archiac, Comte de Bryas, died on 17 March.

[He was born at St.Vrain on 1 January 1936, son of Ferdinand Alexandre Marie Raoul de Bryas-Desmier d'Archiac, Comte de Bryas, and of his wife, Jeanne Elisabeth Yolande Marie Victurnienne de Rochechouart de Mortemart. She married firstly Anthony Bazley, and secondly, in 1944, Francis Philip Howard, 2^nd Lord Howard of Penrith (1905-1999), son of Esme William Howard, Lord Howard of Penrith (of the Dukes of Norfolk), and of his wife, née Donna Maria Isabella dei Principi Giustiniani-Bandini.
