Dave's dream, comparable to mine, is to have property on the ocean, to use the fishing pole that my father gave him one Christmas about 5 years ago and which has never been used, and to have a garden - to be a gentleman farmer. I wouldn't mind that, except Dave's idea of property "on the ocean" and mine don't match. By property "on the ocean" he means within walking distance; what I mean is to be able to look out of my window and see the ships, to open my window and hear the waves breaking on the shore - to hear them from my bed.
We have looked at some beach-front condominiums, one in Atlantic City and one in Myrtle Beach. They are affordable if we sold one of our homes here, but it would be very hard for me to let go of the lake property after putting so much of myself into it.
Well, the ocean is too far away to buy it now. We'll save that for retirement. Dave says we'll live at the ocean in the winter and at the lake in the summer. Retirement is still about ten years off?
