The Dave REGAN family...
What's New?
- Nancy has been to 5 neurologists. The last 3 agreed she has PSP. Her main symptoms are frequent falls caused by lack of balance and "difficult to understand" speech and uncontrollable laughter, often followed by tears and left-sided weakness and she can't swim any more because she can't hold her breath. She's using a walker now. She hasn't developed problems with eyesight or swallowing yet, but the doctors expect her to develop those symptoms. She spends a lot of time on the computer playing Freecell where she feels safe and she can prove to herself that the disease hasn't affected her mind. As a result of difficulty with stairs, she sold the cottage that she built and added a chapter to that story. The symptoms started in Spring 2003 and were much worse in Spring 2004. She doesn't have any pain, but she feels very frustrated and helpless and clumsy. There is no known cause or cure for this disease.
