SECRETS

If I could just open my mouth,
I would sing a beautiful version of what my
mind is concocting,
Is it possible to retain information that
your heart knows is afterthought learnt
and will karmically retaliate?
As children they looked to your words as
scripture-sacred is as sacred does, or
secrets are as secrets do;
Subjugate feelings to save face
Clandestine melody, that is vaguely
remembered as I hear a strangers whistle
down the street,
Somehow I cannot manage to place my lips
into the shape of singing or whistling
the words are trapped as I stumble,
letting out only a, 'hurumph' Again,
I learn the sing-songy truth that 'what goes
around comes around'
Literally.
