How our Organization is Sturctured
Last Modified: 9/2/2001
To help parents who are new to Scouting, we have provided a description of how our organization is structured as suggested by the Boy Scouts of America. Of course, if you should have any additional questions, please feel free to Email us any questions you might have using the "Contact Us" option or contact any of our leaders.
- Cub Scouting is a program offered to all boys in 1st through 5th grades.
- Each school grade is given a Rank Name.
- 1st Grade - Tiger Cubs
- 2nd Grade - Wolf Cubs
- 3rd Grade - Bear Cubs
- 4th Grade - 1st Year Webelos
- 5th Grade - 2nd Year Webelos
- The total organization is referred to as a "Pack".
- The "Pack" is broken down into small groups called Dens (1st - 3rd Graders) or Patrols (4th - 5th Graders). The purpose for the differentiation is to give the older Scouts a since of identity which is slightly separated from the younger boys and for preparing them to eventually becoming Boy Scouts.
- The Tiger Cubs typically meet as a Den once a month.
- The other Dens or Patrols usually meet 2 to 3 times a month (depending on Holidays or a week when there is a Pack Meeting.
- The Pack will meet once a month, ususally around the third or forth Tuesday of the month. The Pack Meeting is where we celebrate each Scouts accomplishments, play games, sing songs, and try to build a sense of community amoung all the Scouts.
- In addition to the Den/Patrol Meetings and the Pack Meeting, the Pack will also engagne in Family Camping Trips, Pack Outings, and Picnics. All are an attempt to provide diverse activities that the parents and their children can engage in together. They are always "TOTAL" family oriented.
- Please understand our Pack runs based on having parental support. With out you our "Pack" would not work or exist. Please Remember ... "MANY HANDS MAKE FOR LIGHT WORK"! We hope that you will step forward and support our organization.
