Saw action in only five games.

1997

Signed by the Oilers as a free agent( 3-29-97)...saw action in eight games( five on special teams as holder for K Del Greco)...made appearance in game against Seattle.

1996

Signed by the Bears as a free agent( 5-21-96)...started 12 games after an injury to QB Kramer...had a season high of 247 yards and three TD's against the Saints.

1995

Signed by the Cardinals as a free agent( 3-11-95)...Started all 16 games and set a personal high for completions( 304) and his 521 attempts were his second best in his career...his 3,554 yards were his third best total.

1994

Signed by the Lions as a free agent( 4-22-94)...Finished the season by starting seven games and leading the Lions to a 9-7 mark, going 5-2 during his time at the helm...needed only 12 more passes to have his QB rating of 101.7 to qualify a second in the league...had a streak of 122 consecutive passes without an interception...passing total ranked as sixth highest total in team history.

1993

Appeared in 12 games with a 3-2 mark in his five starts as a backup to QB Montana.

1992

Signed by the Chiefs as a free agent( 3-19-92)...started all 16 games...only QB to throw all of his team's passes in 1992...led Chiefs to a 10-6 record and postseason play...led the AFC and ranked fourth in the league with 7.54 yards per attempt...3,115 yards rankedthird in club history... threw his 12th 300- yard passing game.

1991

Played in only 10 games due to a broken thumb suffered in the season opener...set a Seahawk single season record with a completion percentage of 65.61%...ranked fourth in AFC with an 82.5 rating.

1990

Played and started in all 16 games...only QB to take every snap and make every throw for his team in 1990...set a club record with his fourth 3,000 yard season and his tenth 300- yard game...brought Seattle back in the fourth quarter four times...earned AFC offensive player-of-the-week when he completed 16 of 23 passes for 306 yards and two touchdowns, the last one to WR Skansi on the game's final play for a win of 17-16.

1989

Made his third Pro Bowl appearance...passed Jim Zorn as the team's leader in career passing yards...passed the 20,00 yard mark on december 4th...on december 10th connected with WR Largent for his 100th career TD reception.

1988

Elected to his second Pro Bowl...his QB rating of 94.6 was second in the NFL and set a team record...7.9 percent touchdown efficiency led the NFL...named AFC player-of-the-week after crushing the Raiders(12-8-88) for 410 yards and four TD's...named AFC offensive player-of-the-week after a monday night game against the Raiders( 11-28-88) where he went 16 of 28 for 220 yards and five TD's.

1987

His 23 TD's finished second in the AFC...led the team to the playoffs and went 16 of 38 for 237 yards and two TD's against Houston in the first round.

1986

Finished third in the NFL with a QB rating of 91.0...closed the season as the NFL's hottest QB going 76 of 116 for 1,288 yards, 11 TD's, and only one INT, translating to a 131.0 rating...named AFC player-of-the-month for december while going 46 of 66 for 786 yards and 8 TD's in three victories.

1985

His 27 TD's were second best in the NFL...started in all 16 games...attempted a club record 532 passes...earned co-AFC player-of-the-week honors by throwing for 307 yards andfive TD's against San Diego( 9-15-85)...his streak of consecutive games with a TD ended at 28 on November 11th...on December 8th against Cleveland he passed the 10,000 yard mark.

1984

Started all 16 games for the Seahawks...in his first full season as a starter he lead his team into the playoffs...set team records for yards( 3,671) and TD passes( 32) which ranked him fourth and second in the league respectively...elected to his first Pro Bowl...earned co-offensive AFC player-of-the-week honor for going 30 of 40 for 406 yards and three TD's against Denver on november 25th...earned the award again the next week against Detroit by passing for five TD's.

1983

Became the starter halfway through the season and led the team to 7 wins...his 95.0 QB rating is a Seahawk record and second in the AFC.

1982

Started two games in this strike shortned season.

1981

Had his first NFL start on December 6th going 20 of 26 for 264 yards with two TD's and a rushing TD.

1980

Signed as a free agent, non drafted, on May 6th.

His 3,105 completions rank 8th all-time...his 5,311 attempts rank 10th all-time...his 38,147 yards rank 8th all-time...his 261 TD's rank 8th all-time...fourth fastest to reach 200 Touchdown passes...fith fastest to reach 30,000 passing yards...18 300 yard+ games...holds Seahawk all-time records for most passing yards( 26,132) and most TD passes( 195)...most sacked QB in NFL history...Most fumbles in NFL history...finished 7th in the nation among NAIA passers as a senior...lettered in baseball as a pitcher...travelled to europe in 1985 as part of an NFL-USO tour of military bases...graduated with a degree in marketing from Milton college.



For a Guy to be sacked a record number of times, fumble now and then, and play for some bad teams, he must have been doing something right to come up with numbers like these. Numbers can sometimes lie, but numbers like these should make it clear to anyone that he's a Hall of Fame caliber player.
