To become a registered member of Venture Crew 2088 you must be 14 years of age. However, if you are under 14 you can still take part in all our Post activities as a WANABEE. A WANABEE must be in the 6th. grade and also be a registered Boy Scout
or Girl Scout. If you are under 14 and are not a member of the Boy/Girl Scouts; you will
be asked to join a troop.
See our Contact Us section or just come to one of our meetings with a current menber of the Crew. You will be given a Membership form to fill out and you will be assesed a registration fee of $25. This is a one time fee and is used to register you with the Boy Scouts of America; provide insurance coverage via the B.S.A; and add a small amount to the Crew treasury.
| UNIFORMS: | ||
| Class B Uniform Shirt. | ||

Our Official uniform is the dark green Venturer Shirt and Gray Pants or shorts. The boys may wear their regular Boy Scout uniform if they are still a member of a Troop. All boys are encouraged to remain with their local Troop once they join the Post. The Crew also has a Class B uniform which consists of a specially designed T-shirt which may be purchased through the Crew for $8.00. Female members of the Crew may purchase the Official Venturer Uniform or the Class B shirt. Uniforms are worn at Special Events, ceremonies, and parades. No uniforms are worn on our high adventure activities. However, we do ask that the Classs B shirt accompany you on these trips.
| ANNUAL DUES:
When a member joins Adventure Crew 2088 they are assessed a $25.00 fee. This is a one time assessment.
There is no annual dues. However everyone is expected to participate in the annual Bowl-O-Ree sponsored by the
Boy Scout Council. Our Crew receives 25% of all funds raised. This money is used to pay for our annual
charter; buy snacks for meetings; pay for campground fees; and to supplement the cost of food on campouts and
trips. It is also used to repair and replace camping equipment owned by the Crew. Our only other source of income comes from donations we receive from time to time by Crew member parents. We do not run fund raisers to help support the Crew because the vast majority of our members retain their membership in local Boy and Girl Scout Troops. To ask for additional monies from these members above what their troop's ask them to raise, the Crew feels would be too much of a burden. |
| PARENT SUPPORT:
The Crew needs the support of all parents
when we go on trips; attend camp-o-rees; basically whenever we go anywhere.
So parents; when your son or daughter comes home and asks you if you can be a driver; don't shy away, we need you
. Without you, none of the activities you see here would be possible. |
| DRIVING POLICY:
We have a very stringent driving policy.
No members are allowed to drive their cars on any trips outside our town. From time to time
we will allow a member to drive on an extended trip, but only with a written note from their parents.
And then only family members may be in the car. They will not be allowed to drive by themselves on any
extended trips.
