That was the year Ron started at Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. He retired from same November 2000 with 28 years of service. He seems to be enjoying this new lifestyle and rarely runs out of things to do. He loves his part time work as web site designer for his engineering and entriprneurial clients. Some of his other activities include reading, authoring these web pages, building, upgrading and just plain tinkering with computers, and a few chores around the house and yard. Ron wasn't blessed with preaching or singing talents, so his ministry was serving on the technical support staff at Wayside Chapel for 15 years (now retired from that spine tingling adventure).
Carol is a full time homemaker and spends quite a bit of time taking care of Ron and Dane. When she's not caring for them or the house she loves to lavish TLC on all her beautiful flowers and plants in the back yard. We call it "Carol's Botannical Gardens". She's not eligible for retirement!
Our son Dane graduated in 1999 from MacArthur High School. He also worked on the Wayside tech crew. He tried the higher education route at San Antonio College but he just wasn't cut out for that. He does have excellent typing skills, and I do mean excellent. He used those skills to the max for several years as a data input clerk for a Goodwill Industries contract job at Randolph AFB.
