SBC-Yahoo! email can be accessed on-line or via POP3 clients  (Outlook, Outlook Express, Mozilla,  etc.).   Either way, members can block addresses, block domains, and otherwise filter incoming mail right at their on-line mailbox.  

For information about on-line blocking and filtering, go to the on-line mailbox (http://mail.yahoo.com) and click on Mail Options.  Then click on either:

        Block Addresses - ( get help by clicking on the "More Info" link there )
            Up to 200 internet addresses can manually be blocked.
                                                    OR                                               
        Filters - ( get filtering help at http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/sbc/mail/manage/manage-07.html )
            Up to 50 individual filters can be created.

 

THE BULK MAIL FOLDER

  1. SpamGuard™ marks most incoming SPAM and places it in a special section of your Inbox called Bulk Mail Folder (if if that folder is set up in Mail Options/Mail Preferences and SpamGuard™  is "turned-on" in that folder)

  2. If you access your SBC-Yahoo mailbox(es) using your own (POP3) mail client, then you can set up your downloads to:

  3. If you elect to Include and Mark the spam in the Bulk Mail Folder, then the downloaded mail from that folder can be identified and separated in your POP3 email client.  This is done by setting up a filter in that software to identify messages containing [Bulk] in the subject line.
