Welcome to Debbie’s Newsletter!
Here is a brief run down of what been happening so far
this year:
In
December of 2001 Debbie was contacted by WKOI tv-42 in Richmond, Indiana and they
scheduled her to sing on the local “Praise The Lord” program on January 4th. This was Debbie’s second time at the studio
at Richmond. Debbie got quite a surprise
when a few days later she received a phone call all the way from Xenia,
Ohio. A lady called to say how much she
was blessed by one of the songs Debbie sang.
The song was “It’s My Desire” written by Dottie Rambo and it is one of
Debbie’s favorites also.
Pastor
Vernon Rodeffer asked Debbie and I to be a part of the revival services at
Stelvideo Congregational Christian Church in Stelvideo, Ohio. So for three days in March there was a lot
of music going on at Stelvideo. The
guest speaker made the comment that, “Coming to Stelvideo was like coming home”
and now we know what he meant. The
people there are wonderful. It’s easy
to sing your heart out when there is such a wonderful group of people clapping
their hands and in some cases singing along.
Debbie and I had the great pleasure of meeting and chatting with speaker/evangelist
Craig Peters of Finish Line Ministries.
I admit that I had never heard of Finish Line Ministries but after being
blessed by Craig’s ministry it is easy to see why this ministry is growing! On the last night Pastor Vernon ask how many
churches were represented by the visitors and I believe there were five or six different
churches represented…WOW! When the
Spirit decides to move you just got to step aside and let it happen! Debbie and I want to thank Pastor Vernon,
Craig Peters and especially the congregation at Stelvideo for having us.
Speaking
of revivals we will be involved with another revival in April at the Upland
Church of the Nazarene. Revival starts Sunday
April 21 and runs through Wednesday the 24th.
We
have found out that Ronnie Hinson the
writer of the song “The Lighthouse” will be at Farmers Pike Festival, New
Castle, Indiana this year. Many artists
including Debbie have recorded this much loved gospel song. So come on out and see Ronnie Hinson, Lily
Wetherford Trio, Southern Touch and much more… yes, Debbie is on the schedule
to perform also. So get a schedule so
you can plan your Labor Day Weekend. Rita
and Dick Land sponsor the Farmers Pike Festival.
We have
made several contacts that are not yet on the schedule because they haven’t
been confirmed yet. So check it often,
you never know when it will change.
Until
next time…Rick Skeen
