Greg Olltwitts Freeware - This British site is filled with free downloadable educational programs, some used by a few schools in England. Gregg portrays himself as an Old Geyser, (he's actually the father of three teens), cheering the kids on with each correct answer. Addition and subtraction has the children carry on the screen. Clockface is especially good (and fun) for learning five minute increments. (My kids enjoy it!)
Basic Math Facts - Provides either a sheet or an applet for learning basic math facts. The applet is our favorite - it goes very quickly and is fun to use for the kids. Beats flashcards!
Note: If you have any say so over which Math books your school uses, Saxon's are excellent.
The Gutenburg Project - Thousands of books with expired copyrights, mostly classics such as Treasure Island, Little Women, and Shakespeare, are available for free to download to your computer.
Fun Brain Kids Center A variety of educational games covering most subjects. Gilroy Library - Provides access to the full Santa Clara County catalogue. You can put books on hold and renew titles.
