Making a Class Webpage is not so hard!
There are many programs you can use that will make making webpages easy for you,
OR you can learn some simple codes and make your own with Notepad, like I do!
I started this webpage in the spring of 2002 with a program I bought my children. I soon found I wanted to do things the program could not do, so I bought a book on HTML. I found a book that had a picture on every page and I was able to go right into the source code of the webpage and easily make the changes I wanted. Within a couple months I had dropped the program all together and was writng my own code through Notepad in Windows.
I got hooked in no time! I put up the things I felt most valuable for my class right away. I added prayers so the kids in class could practice along. I started putting up review pages of what we covered in class. I found some great Catholic websites for children and added those.
This webpage has been very rewarding for me. One of the mothers in class told me right away that her son loved to go online to hear the prayers. That made my day! And it gave me the idea to tape record the kids in class saying prayers and singing songs too; what child doesn't like to hear their own voice? What better way to learn their prayers and songs we sing in church?
When planning your webpage go with your most immediate thoughts. What do the kids in your class need to work on most? That should be your starting point. And do be very conscious of internet saftey. I don't use class photos on purpose, nor last names.
As pages in this section are finished I will add them below. So far I have only this page and a tutorial for writing code. Give it a try if you have fifteen minutes to spare, you may be surprised how easy it really is to do!
---If you would like to check out other websites I am working on, there is The Fabulous Flappers Website at fabulousflapper.org, an award winning senior tap group which my mother and CCD assistant, Miss Gloria, is a member, and Dance Unlimited Performing Arts Studio at danceunlimitedpas.com, (we love this studio!).
