IN THE VALLEY
Sometimes, my Lord, I feel that you are very far away;
But then I think of how you said that you have come to stay.
And so I draw upon the faith and love you give to me
Until once more the mountain top you bring me up to see.
When we are on the mountain top I simply want to stay;
But once again you bring me down to live for you each day.
Down in the valley the roads seem sometimes oh, so dull;
Then fragile thoughts turn back to days that were so full -
Full of you, my precious Lord and the glory of your love
Shining out for all to see, bright as the sun above.
Then your sweet Holy Spirit speaks to me once more,
Says "I never left your heart since I came through its door."
So now down in this valley so sweet and green I stay
Until you take me once again to mountains far away;
And each day we will walk together, hand-in-hand
Until the day we cross into that longed-for promised land.

DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH
I am a diamond in the rough
Held in the Master's hand,
Taken out of silt and dirt
And sifted from the sand.
He chisels, shapes and polishes
Each facet lovingly
And smooths out every blemish
That He can find in me.
He works so very patiently
Not rushing to be through;
But taking all the time He needs
To make each facet true.
I wish the Master soon would stop
Shaping and polishing me.
I think, "Now I'm the perfect gem
That I'm supposed to be."
But He has more to cut away
That would my beauty mar.
Yes, He can see more than I
What's best for me, by far.
So in the Master's hand I'll stay
While He still works on me
To make this diamond in the rough
The gem He wants to see.
And when He's finished with me
Each side shall fairly shine
That when He sees each one, He'll say
"The reflection there is mine."

BEFORE HIS GLORIOUS THRONE
When troubles get you down and no one seems to care,
When you feel the world is caving in and you cry out in despair,
I know a place where you can go and lay your burdens there.
It is a place of quiet peace, of calm serenity -
A place for tired ones, the likes of you and me.
There you can go and rest your heart in love that is so free.
That place is at Jesus' feet before His glorious throne.
It's easily accessible because we are His own.
When you are in His strong arms you'll never feel alone.
For He has so much love for you to show that he does care -
A precious love that you can take with you anywhere.
So take your troubles to His throne and lay your burdens there.

PLEASE MEET MY JESUS
Have you met my Jesus? Do you know Him true?
Have you found out just how much He cares for me and you?
He's waiting just to meet you, hopeful that He can.
He's waiting very patiently for you to take His hand.
He loves you oh so very much and wants to heal your pain.
He wants to give you all His love so you won't hurt again.
Just reach out to Him now and feel His wondrous love,
And from this day you'll know you have a home in Heav'n above.
He'll give you such a precious gift, most wondrous eternal life.
And from this moment forward, He'll keep you safe in strife.
Just don't forget He loves you and gave His life for you.
He'll help in all you do each day. He'll always see you through.
