Hidalgo Viggo Mortensen is a quiet long distance horse racing cowboy/indian, first time we've seen him outside Lord of the Rings. Adventure, humor, compassion mixed into one movie. Saw with Alison at the Regal.

Hollywood Homicide Rental - Harrison Ford, which is why we rented the movie. Entertaining, but definitely not one of his "A" flics.

American Pie 3 - American Wedding (unrated) Rental - 3rd, and I think, last of the series. They didn't/weren't able to cast all the guys and gals from the first two. Although Alison said that I laughed hard enough for a heart attack, it wasn't nearly as good as the first two, in my opinion.

50 First Dates  Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore work together again (Wedding Singer). Alison and I saw it at the Downingtown Regal and really enjoyed it - good story.  3.5  2/21/04
Shanghai Knights Jackie Chan and Owen Wilson team up once again for a western/Chinese comedy that takes place largely in England - yes, that's part of the humor. Alison loved it. Went to the Regal for this one. 3.5 2/8/03
The Good Girl We watched this Jennifer Aniston rental with the Troemel's - and were slightly underwelmed. Kristin weighed in with the fact that even though is wasn't the best movie - it stays in the back of your mind. Hmmmm. Slow - sometimes uncomfortable. 2.0 1/25/03
John Q I caught this Denzel Washington movie on cable, and found it entertaining. This was the movie of a hard working low income black family who's son needed a heart transplant and he fought the beurocracy at gun point to save his son.  2.5 Jan 2003
Lord of the Rings - The Twin Towers What a fabulous movie. The second installment in the series, and like the Harry Potter movie, better than the first. Alison gives this one top score. 5.0 12/19/02
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets Alison and I saw this at the Downingtown Regal. Fantastic movie. In fact, I'm one of those who liked it just a little bit better than the first Harry Potter movie. Must see. 4.5 11/22/02
The Rookie Good rental. I wanted to see this one. Pursuing your dream is basically what this Disney movie is all about. Enjoyable.  3.0  11/19/02
Spiderman Alison and I rented this one. Good rental. I can see the sequels coming.... 2.5 11/16/02
I Spy Alison and I went to the movies with Kristin and Lenny in Pittsburgh. The movie was entertaining, but it was NOT the I Spy from Robert Culp, Bill Cosby days. The movie didn't quite meet my expectations. 2.0 11/9/02
Kate and Leopold Rental - Chick Flick - Meg Ryan, who we typically like. Time travel, romantic comedy......  2.5  11/02/02
Sum Of All Fears Rental - Tom Clancy novel turned movie, but this was no conversion of the book to the screen. Ben Affleck is our new Jack Ryan, and will likely lead the character in the next string of movies. Morgan Freeman also did a great job in the movie. Exciting, to say the least. Thought provoking in terms of nuclear terrorism on our soil.  3.5  11/01/02
Windtalkers Watched this World War II movie of the Apache-based code used successfully over in the Pacific. Good movie, but VERY graphic. 2.5 10/25/02
Count of Monte Cristo Rented. The "new" one. Alison and I watched this one. Pretty good. 3.0 10/2002
Red Dragon Alison and I saw this at the Regal Cinema. The prequel to Silence of the Lambs, it is scary, a bit perverted, and keeps you on the edge of your seat. Alison wants to go to the second movie, Hanibal now.  2.5  10/17/02
Murder by Numbers  Rented. Sandra Bullock as a homicide detective. Another thriller, but maybe not the best. 2.5 10/2002
High Crimes Rented. Ashley Judd and Morgan Freeman. Interesting story - thriller - right to the end.  2.5 9/2002
Panic Room Rented. Jodie Foster thriller. Keeps you on the edge. 3.0 9/2002
My Big Fat Greek Wedding The Ghiglione, Williams, Bond crew went to see this eventual hit while in Saskatoon. Excellent comedy, but who would have thought? 3.0 9/2002
Men In Black II Alison and I saw this at the Regal Cinema, and it was great - especially considering that it was a sequel. Good movie. 3.5 7/18/02
Minority Report Alison and I went to the movies to see this Tom Cruise file about a futuristic (2046) PreCrime unit. Not the typical Cuise movie. Eh. 2.5 7/3/02
The Bourne Identity We read the book by Robert Ludlum LONG ago, and couldn't remember any of the plot - but the movie, starring Matt Damon is worth a look. Alison and I really enjoyed it.  3.5 6/28/02
Bandits Bruce Willis and company. Entertaining rental. 2.5 6/16/02
The Curse of the Red Scorpion This Woody Allen/Helen Hunt (and other) movie takes place in the 40's. Cute - very Woody Allen. A few chuckles, but hardly a classic. Alison and I rented it. 2.0 6/15/02
Star Wars - Episode II: Attack of the Clones Alison, Lauren, and I saw this at Painters Crossing. Overall, we were pretty pleased. You find yourself tying the characters of this episode to previous and next episodes, but still well done. 3.5 5/25/2002
Ocean's Eleven We rented this one on its first day out. George Clooney, Bradd Pitt, Julia Roberts. Comic theft of Las Vegas casinos, and a touch of a love story stuck in there. 2.5 5/2002
Spy Games  We rented this one because of Robert Redford and Brad Pitt - and the subject matter. Kind of a flash-back affair, but pretty good entertainment. Alison liked it. Lauren liked Brad Pitt's naked back muscles. 2.5 5/2002
Someone Like You Alison and I rented the movie - comedy - with Ms. Ashley Judd. Alison really liked the movie. I like her expressions and emotions.  2.5 3/02
American Pie 2 Alison and I rented the movie, and almost coughed ourselves to death with laughter. Maybe not as good as the original, but still worth an adult look-see.  3.0 3/02
Collateral Damage We watched Arnold Schwarzenegger's latest in the theater. Interesting, but definitely not one of his best. 2.0 2/23/02
Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring Alison and I watched this in the theatre, and it was fantastic! The only regret I had personally, was that I have to "stay tuned" for the release of the next episode.  4.0 1/2002
Bridgette Jones' Diary Renee Zellweger and Hugh Grant team up on this romantic comedy. Eh. It was a rental. 2.0 12/2001
The 6th Day   Rental - Alison and I picked this movie - having never heard of it before. Arnold Schwarzenegger is very good in this movie about human cloning.Well done.  2.5  8/19/01
Rush Hour 2 Alison and I went to the movies - been a while. We are Jackie Chan fans, and loved Jackie and Chris Tucker in the original Rush Hour. Short movie at 1:45, but a great sequel. Future rental. 3.0 8/18/01
Save the Last Dance  Rental - This is called "keeping up with the kid's" taste in movies.Julia Stiles is pretty good, interesting subject matter, eh, on the interracial thing. 2.0 7/2001
Vertical Limit Rental - Alison & I & crew - a true thriller - keeps you on the edge of your seat end to end. 2.5  7/8/01
Bring It On Rental - Alison, Meghan, Lauren & I watched it - high school "comedy drama" - mindless fun.  2.0  6/30/01
Traffic Rental - Alison and I watched it. Good - not great. A rental movie. Michael Douglas and his now-wife Catherine Zeta Jones. Keeps your interest. 2.5 6/23/01
Speed II Alison and watched this in our hotel room in Aruba. Hilarious as to how bad this movie was. We really enjoyed the original Speed, but this one was awful!  1.0 5/12/01
Finding Forrester USAIR - Scott - Sean Connery stars along with a very talented teenage black actor, Rob Brown. Good story. Watch it. 3.5 4/6/01
Family Man USAIR - Scott - Nicholas Cage and Téa Leoni. Not a classic, but I liked it.. 2.5 4/4/01
Proof of Life Pay Per View while in Annapolis - Scott and Alison. Meg Ryan and Russel Crowe star in this one. Entertaining. 3 4/1/01
Exit Wounds Alison, Lauren, and I watched this one, being the Steven Segal fans that we are. Definitely NOT a family movie, but typical Segal. 2.5 3/17/01
Highlander Endgame Rental - Scott and Alison watched. If you are a fan of the Highlander TV series, the same Duncan McLoud character stars in the movie - not dissappointing. 2.5 3/16/01
Pay it Forward Scott watched this on a trip to San Francisco. I would have given it a higher rating if not a sad ending. Kevin Spacey and Helen Hunt star. Thought provoking. A foundation actually formed - based on the movie. The Pay It Forward Foundation. 2.5 3/12/01
Shaft Rental - Alison, Scott, Meghan & Jeff. Good home entertainment. Definitely heavy "R" - more "F" words/minute than I've heard in years. Samuel L. Jackson. Brought back memories of the old shaft. 2.5 3/1/01
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon Alison liked it better than Scott did. Music - Yo Yo Ma. Great photography. Interesting matial arts segments. Subtitles! 3.5 to 2.5 2/17/01
