Best Game
Rice always lights the Falcons up. But his 7 receptions for 138 yards and a 57 yard TD at Candlestick are all the more impressive when you consider it came just one week after Rice was forced to leave a game against the Raiders after sustaining a concussion.
Did You Know...
This was the first season of Rice's career that the 49ers did not make the playoffs. They finished 10-6.
Play of the Year
On Monday Night Football, the 49ers and Giants squared off in Week 1 for a rematch of last year's NFC Championship grudge match. Although the Giants would prevail yet again, Rice would record a 73 yard TD reception. It was a strong indicator that while the 49ers might suffer, Rice's greatness would continue on.
