Best Game

After defeating Dallas for the first time in three tries, the Niners played the Rams on a Sunday Night contest. Jerry Rice ensured the 49ers avoided a letdown by raking in 16 passes for 165 yards and 3 touchdowns. His last reception would net a game winning touchdown on his patented slant pattern. The 49ers won, 31-27, and made sure that their draining and emotional victory over the Cowboys a week before to gain homefield advantage did not go to waste.

Did You Know...

Jerry Rice rushed for the most rushing yards of his career in 1994 (93 yards).

Play of the Year

Without question it was Jerry Rice's 57 yard TD reception in the third quarter of the Niners' regular season showdown against Dallas. Held scoreless in his last season against the Cowboys, Rice's score would give the 49ers their first lead against Dallas in thirteen quarters at 14-7. The Niners won 21-14, homefield advantage was secured, a monkey on Steve Young's back had been taken off, and the Niners were back in business as the team to beat in the NFL.
