Dear Sensei Saladino,
Living in one of the world's most dangerous countries, where the murder, violent carjacking, rape, and armed robbery figures are among the highest in the world, we often find ourselves looking for effective methods of self defense both armed and unarmed. Also, being a professional musician and being on the road a large part of the time, I am always on the lookout for new training or defense methods. Coming from a martial arts background and having a good knowledge of Jiu Jitsu, Aikido, Shotokan Karate and Yip Man Wing Chun as well as pure street defense and combat, I came across Sensei Saladino's website purely by chance, and decided to place an order for his "Rape Prevention and Street survival" Jiu Joe Jitsu video series to add to my martial arts library. I must say that I was pleasantly surprised. Each of the videos in the series builds up to a new and higher level and has comprehensive tips, as well as normal and slow motion movements from a variety of angles. It is clear that alot of thought and planning went into putting the series together, and everything can be applied in practice and on the street as well. What impressed me the most was that there are no Hollywood style fancy moves...just pure sensible defensive OPTIONS. The methods combine elements and techniques that come from a wide range of styles drawing from Jiu Jitsu, Karate, Aikido, Arnis and Grappling. Together they forge into one highly effective fighting system. Any martial artist no matter what your level or style, can benefit greatly from these videos, and if you can take just 30% of Sensei Saladino's ideas and add them to your own fighting style, you will have one awesome system of defense and unarmed combat at your disposal. However, not only martial artists will benefit from these videos. For the average man, woman or child, these concepts are easy to learn and to remember, and they will give ANYONE the edge if you absorb and apply them. In my books, they get a five star rating and come highly recommended.
