Religious Education Information

Classes for kindergarten through grade six meet on Sunday mornings at the following times:

Session One: 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.                   Session Two: 11:15 a.m. – 12:15 a.m.

 Students are placed in either session one or session two according to a lottery system.

Grades seven and eight meet on Sunday evenings from 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

High school students in grades 9 – 12 meet every other Sunday evening in a private home from 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.

Registration - August 8 & 9 after each Mass. After August 9 you must register in the office, Monday through Friday, 9 am to 3:00 pm

Religious Education fees for a family:  $55.00 per student; $80.00 for two; $90.00 three or more

At the time of registration families are required to fill in the religious education enrollment form, the permission form for medical treatment and pay the enrollment fee.

Classes will begin on Sunday, September 13th and end on Sunday, May 2nd.

Sacramental Preparation:

Baptism Classes: Held in the evening about once every other month.

First Reconciliation: Students are prepared in the 2nd grade.  A parent meeting is required.  A Saturday morning retreat for parents and the child receiving First Reconciliation is required.

First Communion:  Students are prepared in the 2nd grade.  A parent meeting is required. A Saturday morning retreat for parents and the child receiving First Communion is required.

Confirmation: Students are prepared in the 7th and 8th grade.  The sacrament is administered to 8th graders.  A parent meeting for 8th grade parents is required and 8th grade Confirmation candidates are required to attend the two retreats that are offered, have an individual interview and take part in a service project and attend the Sunday evening classes.

Generations of Faith:  Held at various times throughout the year to involve all generations in learning and growing through their experience and participation in the life of the Church.  It weaves home and parish together in a comprehensive model of faith formation.

RCIA --- The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults:  An opportunity for you or someone you know to learn more about the Catholic Church.
