About This Site, and Our Awards

I, MagicalObizuth, am the founder and webmistress of this site, often getting much needed help in coding fanfics from Crimson Weeper (actually, the job is hers). It has gone through some changes, but mostly, we've only had two layouts, this being the second. For our last layout, we won two awards, one from Dobby's Honor (which they never sent, by the way), and one from The Golden Snitch Awards, found below. Thanks to them, and everyone that voted for us. The award fever for HP sites died down a bit, but we may enter a couple awards with this layout.

The best award, by far, that any HP fandom site can receive is JK Rolwing's Fansite Award, so imagine how floored we were when we found out we were bestowed that honor before anyone even knew there was such a thing! Jo awarded us the first ever fansite award, and gave us a great review:

I love this site, which I discovered towards the end of writing Order of the Phoenix, and which made me feel exceptionally guilty, as you can imagine. I am so proud of the fact that a character, whom I always liked very much, though he never appeared as much more than a brooding presence in the books, has gained a passionate fan-club.

At the launch of Goblet of Fire at King's Cross, London, I shook hands with a woman who leaned forward and whispered conspiratorially, 'Sirius Black is sexy, right?' And yes, of course she was right, as the Immeritus club know. The best-looking, most rebellious, most dangerous of the four marauders... and to answer one burning question on the discussion boards, his eyes are grey.

The fan art on here is very good. For a while I had a picture of the four marauders drawn by Laura Freeman on my desktop. It is a particularly accurate portrayal of Sirius and Lupin. -- J.K.

Thank you JK, for changing our lives, not with this award, but with the creation of such a wonderful world, so fleshed out, that we were able to find the intrigue and devotion to a character with as little time in the series as our dear Sirius Black.

Below is our first layout. Simple, but effective.

This is our second layout:

Better navigation and a lot more content. Our current layout is essentially the same, just different artwork and a different color pallette.

Circa March 2002: The Golden Snitch Awards awarded our site with this banner. For those not in the know, I am also the creator of HP Devo, previously known as Harry Potter Devotions, which is why they put that name there. They kinda got the two sites mixed up into one.

August 2003: The Red And Gold Awards, aka The RAGs. These awards are not granted by any judges, but by our voters. Thanks to everyone who voted for us in this first round at the RAG's. That award site is only getting better, and we look forward to entering again sometime.
