Bible Study #1

Introduction for All Beginners

"If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin lies at the door, and its desire is for you, but you should rule over it.

Bible Study #1

This is an introduction to all new comers to Christianity. If you never read a Bible before follow these instructions. 1. Open Bible to Table of contents
2. Look for the name of the book of the Bible you want to read.
3. Turn to that page.
4.Look for the Chapter with the large number next to it.
5. Look for the verse number under that. We must not take for granted that someone has read a Bible before. Learning starts somewhere. So get to it.

Please read 2 Corinthians 5:1-7: 1; Romans 8:28-29 before you read on. Any version of the Bible is OK, But the new living bible is the best for the beginner to read, because it talks in everyday language that all readers can understand.

The purpose for having Bible Study is to understand God and his feelings for us.

We need to understand the Trinity (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit). Keep in mind while reading, their presence is always there, watching and guiding all things and persons through each situation Each generation from the fall in the garden till the birth of Jesus, will be a building block in you walk with God.

You have a heavenly family. I may be the only person on earth to believe the Holy Spirit to be female. I will show my reasons and scriptures later. But God says that these things happening on earth are a shadow or similar to what heaven is like. And since God does not like Homosexuality and creation on earth is by male and female the trinity cannot be three men. We will discuss this as we start Genesis.

Anyway while reading I want you to keep the heavenly family in mind. Also contrast Good with Jesus and Bad with Satan in each of the patriarchs and disciples. They are all representative of all peoples, nations and whatever God did to them in correction or blessings he will do to us. Look for yourself and your family members in your readings. Be honest with yourself, don't go into denial. You can't change a thing if you don't see a problem. Like Erkel on the TV show ask yourself " Do I do that". Be patient with yourself, you can change what you see, don't forget your heavenly family will open your eyes. There will be hard times, but in the end you will have joy and peace in whatever you are going through.

Reading different translations of the Bible are Helpful, but the beginner should use the New Living Bible. Later we will use a NIV Study Bible and a Strong's Concordance to translate the Words from the other languages. For example - Fear does not mean to be afraid of something. In the Bible it means to reverence something. So if you fear God it means to reverence him or be in awe of him

My purpose here is not to save you, But to help you to get a relationship with the trinity. Only they have the power to save you. I am only a seed planter. They make it grow, blossom and bear fruit. Just like earthly relationships, your heavenly relationships will only be what you make it.

I cannot push you to study. If God calls you and your spirit is sick, you will study, because I know from personal experience, my soul was sick and I couldn't get enough of, and still can't get enough of Gods healing words. Your soul is like a pregnant woman, you are uncomfortable, you go into labor, and you moan groan and have great pain. Then you deliver and the joy you feel when its over is calming. You soon forget the pain. After you study Gods word for a while you will understand what I am talking about.

I'm sure you will enjoy our Bible study. I pray for each of you to feel the joy and satisfaction in your heart that God has put in mine. For God has Given me a gift of love, forgiveness and patience and I wish to share them with you. His blessings are open to you too. But you must ask him into your life, he will not go where he is not wanted.

Personal Study
Answer questions below. There are no right or wrong answers. This is between you and Jesus. Remember he sees and knows everything about you so be honest with yourself

HOW MUCH TIME DO YOU? (IN A DAY)
1. watch TV
2. read books (etc.)
3. Work
4. sleep
5. relax
6. eat
7. pray
8. read your Bible
9. Meditate
10. talk on the phone
11. clean house(etc.)

The above can be time consuming, but I want you to get a concept of time. Get an egg timer or look at the second hand on your watch. Sit for one whole minute doing nothing at all. When you're done you'll see you were bored with nothing to do. Take that one minute a day to sit and read one Bible verse, yes one verse a day. Start in genesis 1: 1; don't worry about understanding any of it just read one verse a day. I guarantee soon the Holy Spirit will grab onto you and you won't be able to read just one verse anymore. Do one a day Just like the vitamin and get disciplined in small doses and then you won't be able to put the Bible down. Have you ever listened to Christian's talk about God, they get all wound up in conversation and never shut up!!!

HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT?
1. Studying the bible
2. What people will think about your decision to study Gods word.
3. Feeling inadequate, because people think your crazy because your opinions don't agree with theirs, because of your studying.
4. What you might have to give up by being a follower of Jesus
5. Your self worth.

I don't want to give you too much to think about, But I had all these Feelings. Thoughts of not being good enough, or people rejecting me. But with Gods help, my attitudes of my old life slowly changed, and rebirth takes place. Friends and family really notice the change. They don't understand why I do the things I do. But know this, God is the person you must please, and when you please God they will not like it, because then they have lost control over you. It was very hard for me to overcome letting others run my life. But I have come to a place where I stop and pray and meditate before I make rash choices on who I allow to have hold on me. You may have some sleepless nights, that is your restless spirit changing its old ways and that's normal. At the end of restlessness and change, comes joy and peace. So persevere Jesus will help you. The peace that comes from God will transform your life and the life of those around you. No one will be able to take that away from you. Start studying Gods word today and see if your life doesn't change for the better.
