The facility will be equipped with 25 computers networking with shared printers and scanner. It is targeted to be operational by October 2003 and ready for 2003-2004 school year. Future expansion plan includes Internet capability.

There is only equipment in the scope. Why? Mr. Tep Sokun, vice principal of Lycée Sisowath, pledged during his visit to join the LSA FIRST REUNION to provide: - Facility: room, tables, chairs - Staff: teacher for computer class - Curriculum - Security for computer How much money is enough? The planned budget is $ 30K. Donors can think the fund raising as BON PHKA. It is aggressive but with the generosity of our people, it is achievable. The total contribution at this moment is $ 10.5K (06-18). Will it last? The goal is to completely transfer the operation to Lycée Sisowath in 3 year. The budget has been planed for hardware maintenance until the transfer to assure that the equipment is in good condition. A technical team is being formed to advise, develop the curriculum as necessary and oversee training of teacher as well as student. A local committee is being formed, with representation from Lycée Sisowath's student, computer teacher and school administrator, to manage the lab. It is training on the job. The committee will also be our liaison. How to assure transparency? Lycée Sisowath will not receive donation in cash. Purchasing and maintenance contracting will be done by local committee with US approval. Lycée Sisowath agrees in this principle. Any contributions and expenses will be displayed on the web for transparency. Is it too ambitious to target for school year 2003-04? Yes, the schedule is aggressive but Cambodia is behind and she has no time for idling. Rise to the challenge. Roll your sleeve and work together. With personal commitment and responsibility, we strongly believe that it will be done. The critical path is fund raising. If we cannot achieve in 3 months, we probably never will. We need all the help!!!
