In the picture front row, left to right:

Dr.  Khus Chiev, holding Kylin's raincoat, from Siemreap and Lycee
Descartes, the first Khmer PhD in mathematics (1967?) from New Mexico State
U. at Las Cruces, near White Sands;

The Lady is Nguon Bophary (Professor of English? - I lost track of her; she
had BacII in Philosophy);

Chhuy Lim Chheang, from Kompong Luong, BacII Sciences Exp.,  I lost track of
him;  he was supposed to be at Storrs in Connecticut;

Thong Meas, 6 feet tall, rare for a Khmer; a casanova and a singer with a
very nice voice, from Ohio State U.; he left in 1962 without finishing
school.  He had BacII Sci. Exp (1958) with 2 years of Medical school from
Cambodia;;

Upper row from left to right the four are:

Lay Nguon, BS (1964, Denver U.), MS (1966, U. of Colorado, Boulder  - I was
Dr. Naranhkiri Tith's roommate), both in Mechanical Engineering , MA
(Econometrics, 1980 at California State U. at Long Beach), and PhD (1990,
Economics, University of Southern California (USC)); Bac II Math Elem
(#293), 1960;

Dr.  Chhor  Kylin, the famous UN employee, Khmer citizen, the then-
student-advisor, needs no description or introduction; he was in Math Elem
(class of 1957); he came to the US in 1958, that class being the famous one,
because everyone did graduate and went on to better things in their
respective later lives;

Prou Eng Huot, class of Sci Exp in 1958 with Thong Meas;  I lost track of
him from 1965 onward.  He went to Lamar State University in Beaumont, Texas,
studying petroleum engineering.  He is a loner, loving to hike hills, alone.

HOUL HONG, MA. in Architecture from Kent State University in OHIO.  He died
during the genocide in Cambodia;

There ware three more to make ten of us (each year) under the Institute of
International Education (IIE) scholarship.   They are:

Khy Taing Ly (1966, MS in Electronics Engineering from U. of Oklahoma in
Norman). He too, died during the genocide. He had BacII Math Elem
1960.  He sat behind me in the Math Class with Houl Hong. LIM Kheng-LAM sat
behind the duo Khy Taing Ly/Houl Hong, with HEM YIM-ENG, who is now living
in PP.

Songthara OMKAR, BS in Civil Engineering and MS, 1967, in Hydraulics (?)from
Colorado State University in Fort-Collins.  He sat on my left in the Class
of Math Elem with CHOU CHUTTIVANN, now living in France,  while I sat with
CHEN CHUN.  Songthara and I, we worked together in the Mekong-River
Committee, up to our arrival in the US in June 1975. Thereafter, I lost
track of him.

Last, Mme KONG SIVONE, a Professor of English?, is now with the Voice of
America radio.
