I went to Moscow in January 1998 with a team of engineers from the NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston to observe a space suit vacuum chamber test at Zvezda. I have restored the photos that were lost in May, but haven't retyped the text that goes with them. I'll leave a note on the "WHAT'S NEW" page when I get it finished. Thanks for your patience. 11/4/02 Jemma Mitchell's Moscow Photos - This is a page of 'thumbnail' photos that link to the large (1280x960) photofiles of Jemma's beautiful photos of Red Square, St. Basil's, Lenin's Tomb, GUM, and other scenes around the Kremlin, the Moscow River, and her 'flat.'
This is a view of Red Square with St. Basil in the distance, the Kremlin and Lenin's Tomb on the right. That could be our Kremlin tour guide in the long dark coat and the dark hat.
St. Basil is a famous landmark of Moscow. It is a beautiful example of Eastern Orthodox Christian Architecture. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be used for religious purposes now.
