The holding yard serves several purposes. Plant material can only be dug from the field in the spring before the leaves are present, or in the fall as they go dormant. Because of this, we dig extra plant material in the spring and place it in the holding yard where it is held under drip irrigation. This allows us to provide an excellent product all season long.
