Negligent Hiring or Retention
- An employer who keeps on an employee who has direct contact with the public and who has
demonstrated careless, dangerous or violent behavior may be liable if that employee
subsequently injures another.
- If an employer becomes aware of problems with an employee, it should take action such as
investigating the situation and either discharge or reassign the employee.
