Hello. My name is Andrew. I am 10 years old and I have been diagnosed with everything from Autism, to PDD, to Aphasia. When I was a baby I was very normal. I developed just like all of my friends. I learned to walk at 8 1/2 months. I made really good eye contact, and I liked to talk alot. By the time I was 16 months old, I was saying about 40 words, and just starting to put short sentences together. I didn't have a lot of health problems, although at about 7 months old, I started having alot of ear infections. I had to take alot of antibiotics, (you know, the old pink stuff). So my doctor told my Mom & Dad that I needed to have tubes put in my ears. Well to make a long story short, I never did speak again after the day of the surgery. I have very good gross moter skills, but my fine motor skills are not very good. I also like to use my peripheral vision alot. I am very loving and like to play with my sisters. I love to play video games. I am starting to learn to use the computer a little. I also like to work puzzles.

I have seen lots of doctors, and had lots of tests and have had lots of therapy but I don't know why this happened. So...... my Mom and Dad are looking for information that you may have that would help me. We haven't really met anyone just like me.

About a year ago, my parents took me to a doctor in Chicago where I received several secretin injections. At first we thought that it was helping me, but we sort of think now it was just wishful thinking. But we're still searching.
