The Healing Art of Tai Chi

  • Sit comfortably in a chair.
  • Put hands together and move your palms around each other in circles slowly.
  • Feel both hands touching other by paying attention to the place between the palms.
  • Exhale a few times though a slightly opened mouth.
  • Feel the warm sensation between your palms while exhaling.
  • After you feel the warmth, place your palms on your knees, take a few more breaths gently and exhale again though the mouth.
  • Feel the warm sensation between your palms and knees and follow this sensation as it travels down to your feet.
  • Relax, breathe, feel the earth (or floor), do nothing extra, and touch the painful spot with your palm in a circular motion several times. Cover this spot with your palm, exhale through your mouth, and feel the warm sensation between your palm and the painful spot.

  • Move your palm down slowly over your chest, arm, or leg while exhaling through your mouth.

  • Feel your inner breath flowing down your body, arm, hand, or feet as your palm moves downward.
