Fully Conforms to Boeing D6-17487M
U.S. Air Force Approved
Fully Conforms to T.O. 1-1-8 and TT-R-2918
No Methylene Chloride
Non-Acidic, No Hydrogen Embrittlement
No Peroxides
Non-Corrosive, Non-Flammable
D-Zolve™ 15-33 LO is available in both high viscosity and low viscosity formulations; high viscosity R is designed for use either with spray equipment or brush on application and low viscosity IM can be used in immersion tanks.
Both formulations efficiently remove several layers of aircraft paints consisting of epoxy primer with cross-linked polyurethane top coats including MIL P23377 Epoxy or TTP 2760 Flexible Polyurethane and MIL C85285 Polyurethane topcoat, Fluid Resistant BMS 10- 11-V Type 1, BMS 10-60-H, BMS 10-7-9 and Desothane 6221T. It also removes topcoats with high solid content fluoride and other high solid content polyurethanes.
Superior Performance
D-Zolve fully conforms to Boeing D6-17487M and to T.O. 1-1-8 including sandwich corrosion tests, immersion corrosion tests, hydrogen embrittlement tests and more. It is U.S. Air Force approved. D-Zolve can be safely used with aluminum, magnesium, stainless steel, carbon steel, cadmium coated steel, and titanium. It contains no chlorinated components or other carcinogens. It has no hydrogen embrittling components, no peroxides and is non-acidic.
D-Zolve GL 15-33 breaks the bond between the substrate and the primer. Once this bond is broken, a secondary action causes the paint to lift away from the substrate as a single film, primer and top coat. D-Zolve remains active and keeps it moist for 48 hours.
Easy to Use
To maximize efficiency and reduce waste, D-Zolve GL 15-33 exhibits a long active life and slow rate of evaporation. It displays excellent clinging properties — even on vertical surfaces and the undersides of wings and fuselage. D-Zolve can be easily sprayed using an airless spraying system. To reduce overspray, a non-atomizing tip is recommended. D-Zolve can also be applied with a brush and smoothed out with a plastic spatula.
Once the paint has lifted, it can be removed with a rubber squeegee, high pressure water, or Solvent Kleene's Vac-Strip which leaves the surface clean and dry. The stripped surface can be rinsed with water. Paint lifting time can be accelerated by elevating the surface temperature to 85°F/29°C. D-Zolve GL 15-33 is also available for tank immersion stripping.
Reduces Health and Environmental Risks
Designed to minimize health and environmental risks, D-Zolve GL 15-33 is non-carcinogenic, non-flammable, non-acidic, and contains no chlorinated components. It has minimal or no hazardous air pollution potential.
D-Zolve GL 15-33 is designed to serve as a high performance, safe replacement for methylene chloride that does not structurally degrade aircraft metals.
The FAA recommends that most non-metallic materials such as tires, electrical insulation, canopies, fiber reinforced composite materials, some sealants, synthetic rubber parts, and acrylic plastics be protected against possible contact with any paint remover.
