In 1914, at the home of M.G. Kidd, twelve people organized South Texarkana Baptist Church on South Spruce Street, Texarkana, Texas. They later erected a frame building on South Spruce and added to it as they grew.
In 1943, under the leadership of Pastor Dillard Miller, the frame building was moved to Ida and South State line, Texarkana, Arkansas. In 1958 the present structure was built and dedicated on September 14, 1958. Over the long history of South Texarkana, there have been 25 pastors.
South Texarkana Baptist Church is a place where you can meet friends who go through the same moments in life that you do and who will love and support you. They are friends who celebrate your victories and comfort you in your loses. However, the greatest friend that you will ever meet is Jesus Christ. The Bible calls him "...a friend that sticks closer than a brother." Here at South Texarkana Baptist Church, we want to introduce you to our friend Jesus. You will meet people who know him and are willing to help lead you to a personal relationship with him.
