Question for
January 01, 2002:
Information:
A lung biopsy
showed non-specific histologic findings with no
evidence of viral inclusions - it was from a patient
with lupus who had slowly worsening pulmonary
function. The CMV DNA in situ was reported as
positive, and the slides sent to me for review.
The first panel (Figure #1) is their positive control
(lung known to be strongly positive for CMV) and the
second (Figure #2) the result for the lung biopsy in
question.
Question:
Do you think
this is signal or background?
