Question: NAME THE VIRUS!
The specimen is a peripheral blood sample for a young woman who was recently hospitalized (briefly) for a sore throat with associated difficulty breathing and extreme fatigue. She recovered and is now fine. The PBMCs were isolated using a FICOLL gradient, the buffy coat fixed in formalin, and the cells subjected to RTISPCR for a variety of viruses.
