The Golden Web Award

I would like to thank the International Association of Web Masters & Designers for choosing my site for the Golden Web Award for 2001-2002, 2002-2003, and 2003-2004. It makes the site and all the work that goes into keeping it up-to-date worthwhile. Thank you so much!

Getting Started

For years I worked logic problems, but it wasn't until 1989 that I decided to see if I could construct one on my own. After a lot of practicing, I finally thought I might be good enough to have some of mine published, so I sent off to Penny Press, Inc. to see if they had a need for more constructors. They sent me their guidelines, and I send in a few of my logic problems. My first logic problem was published in October, 1991 in Original Logic Problems. It is fun to be able to do something you enjoy and get paid for it, too!

In the past few years I've contributing to several other publications and my logic problems now appear in Dell, Official, Harle, Herald Tribune, and Ebb, just to name a few. I still find it just as enjoyable to construct them now as I did then. :-)

Beginning in January, 2000, I posted one logic problem a month to my site. It was a ClueJo Logic Problem, which is centered around either the suspects from the popular game CLUE or my own special six characters (learn more about them by clicking on the ClueJo link on the menu above). Half way throught the year I also began one that centers around Everett Kaser - well known for his computer software logic type games Sherlock, HoneyComb Hotel, Dinner with Moriarty, and many more - and I alternated between the two, but soon I was doing both a ClueJo and an EK each month (to learn more about Everett Kaser and his wonderful software games, you can visit his site at www.Kaser.com .

In February 2002 I added a third logic problem - mainly due to popular demand for more, more, more! They are based around a character named Stefano who sometimes finds himself in some very strange situations!

NEW ADDITIONS

Beginning in 2003 I added some new sections to my site. First is a Young People's section with logic problems for the beginner and those of Middle School and High School age. I've had a lot of requests from teachers and students alike, mostly asking if I knew of a site where there were easier logic problems for the young people and/or beginners. I thought, why send them somewhere else when I can offer them what they want!

The logic problems in the Young People's section are easy and easy-medium in difficulty, and are on the same page as the other logic problems [Logic Problems - 2000 - Present in the menu above], in a section immediately below the Einstein Challenge Puzzle. I'd really appreciate any feedback from those that visit that section. Are the logic problems easy enough? Do they fit beginner and student's needs? Want to see any particular subjects? Any ideas for logic problems for that section are welcome and credit will be given to anyone sending in an idea that is used!

Also, I've added several other new additions - One is How to Construct a Logic Problem, one is How to Solve a Logic Problem, and one is a section containing ABC, or crosshatch, grids. I provide a table or illustarion with all the logic problems, but for those who prefer grids, they should be able find one to fit their needs.

I've also added a Guidelines for Submissions section, and I welcome logic problems from anyone who wants to send in a submission. No pay, I'm afraid, but it will give one the opportunity to see their logic problems posted and for others to see them. It will also give one the experience they need to eventually send into magazine publications and make some extra spending money! It cost you nothing, so why not give it a try! :-) In fact, two different guest submitters are now submitting to magazines and making a few extra dollars to spend on whatever they want!

I hope you enjoy working my logic problems. Any comments can be emailed through the TALK TO ME link - I'd love to hear from you.

Have Fun and Enjoy!
